We know things can get confusing. If your question isn't answered here, please Contact Us!.
What is STUDENTVOLUNTEER.COM (SV)?
Please read up on SV in the About section, found at the top, right-hand corner and bottom of every page.
How do I give feedback for the Beta?
The Give Feedback button is located on the bottom right of every page, and the bright red “Help!” and bug icons.
Can anyone sign up for SV?
No. Currently SV users must either be students ages 14 and up, school advisors or teachers in charge of a student group, a nonprofit organization, or a corporate sponsor. If you fall into one of these categories and want to sign-up, please go to the SV homepage and follow the links to the right user sign-up.
What do I do if someone has posted an offensive picture or comment?
Contact SV immediately at support@studentvolunteer.com. Please include as much information as possible, including the location of the inappropriate content.

Students
How do I edit or update my profile page?
Directly below your picture on the profile page you'll find a button that says Edit Profile. This allows you to make changes to the information you originally inputted onto your profile page.
How do I alert a group of a volunteer event I know about?
When you find or create an event, click the "Invite Friends" button.
How do I track my own service hours?
When tracking service hours, you have two options. Under the Record tab, you can either input the hours you've completed from past events up to 3 months, or you can update the service events you've attended so that SV can automatically track your volunteer hours.
What is the "Journal" option?
The Journal option is available for teachers and advisors to require for their students, or simply for students to reflect on their service experience.
Adult Leaders
Will I really get rid of all of my paperwork for my student group or class?
As far as volunteering goes, yes. We won't be correcting any papers or writing any references, but we will track every hour of any student that is registered on our site, and validate that they actually volunteered when they said they did. To find out more, it's best to visit the About page.
Is this gonna take me a lot of extra time?
No! Each student in your class or group is in charge of inputting their own data. You basically follow the 5-minute registration steps, and let us organize the rest. We estimate that each teacher, advisor, or group leader will spend about 15 minutes a week posting events and assignments or validating hours, but this is up to the individual to determine how much time they want to spend on the site.
Organizations
What do I get out of this?
SV provides organizations with a surplus of young, eager volunteers. It also gives your nonprofit or organization the opportunity to gain awards and recognition for validating the most volunteers.
Why pick SV for getting volunteers?
We are the best at what we do, hands down. Unlike other sites, we actually follow through with every event to make sure your volunteer actually shows up. We also allow volunteers to rate their experience with your organization so you have a good idea of ways you can improve.
Sponsors
What do I get as a sponsor?
That's up to you! The best way to find out more is to go to our Sponsors page and read about our bundles of goodies for prospective sponsors.
What is a Volunteer Reward?
Please read the details listed under the About section or contact us at sponsor@studentvolunteer.com.
Who determines how much a Volunteer Reward is for each student?
You do! Volunteer Rewards are up to the sponsor to determine. For instance, you decide how many hours of service a student must complete to get 20% off in your store.
